148. (i) The cost of medicines supplied in any year by the Government Medical Store-keeper is intimated to the divisional officer by the Principal Auditor (vide note to paragraph 144). It is charged to the head C. 5(e). |

(ii) When medicines which have been found to be useful in the treatment of malarious disorders are not supplied by the Medical Store-keeper, they may be purchased by divisional officers under the powers delegated to them, vide appendix IV and Volume I of the Handbook. |
